United Way Supplemental Food Assistance Distribution Day

Plymouth and Northville will participate in the United Way's new supplemental food program, also known as The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), which is available for all eligible Wayne County residents. Distribution days will be the third Thursday of each month, except in April, when the distribution will take place on April 14. All recipients must pre-register, meeting income and residency requirements, before receiving food on distribution days. Recipients who are not on government assistance programs, such as Food Stamps, ADC and General Assistance, must provide documentation such as proof of income and residence and proof of the number of household members. Bridge Card holders will automatically be qualified but must register also.

For more information about the program and registration, please call the Plymouth Community United Way office at 734-453-6879 Ext. 2. Please register as soon as possible so that enough food can be ordered in advance to accommodate each month's need. At this time, additional volunteers are not needed to help with the March 17 distribution but check with the office as this may change in coming months.
