Community Financial donated the money as part of its Summer of Sharing program.

Summer is over, and with it, Community Financial's third annual Summer of Sharing Program which gave $1,000 to 60 local nonprofit organizations.

Plymouth-Canton Schools' student run radio station, 88.1 The Park, was among those awarded.

According to the Summer of Sharing website, the radio station was selected to win the amount on July 30.

Bill Keith, station manager, had this to say on the website:

"88.1 The Park, the student radio station for the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools, uses community radio to invest in the lives of young people and serve the community. Students grow as communicators, leaders, writers, team members and people. They also benefit from the experience whether they pursue a career in broadcasting or a different field. The station serves the community by providing Plymouth and Canton's Hit Music, local news, high school sports,Plymouth Whalers Hockey, public service announcements, and live broadcasts from the community."
