$14,000 Grant Awarded to Michigan Philharmonic

Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs awarded

The Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs announced their grant support last week for cultural organizations in Michigan.  

The Michigan Philharmonic received $14,000 in support of its innovative and educational programming for 2014.  

In addition to a full season of concerts and free summer concerts the Michigan Phil reaches over 6,000 elementary students each year in numerous school districts in southeastern Michigan with educational programming brought directly to the classroom.

The $14,000 grant is part of $7.6 million in grants that the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs has awarded to 384 arts and cultural organizations for 2014.

The mission of the Michigan Council for the Arts is to encourage, initiate and facilitate an enriched artistic, cultural and creative environment in Michigan as well as to help organizations leverage support in their local communities.

The Michigan Philharmonic continues to produce award winning live performances featuring  classical, pops and jazz repertoire throughout  SE Michigan.
