East Middle School Junior Honor Society Tackles Fall Clean Up

Students helped dozens of residents get a jump on fall clean up last week.

More than 70 National Junior Honor Society students from East Middle School headed out into the community on Nov. 6 to rake leaves in the Plymouth area.

The student-led community service project helped dozens of Plymouth area residents get a jump start on fall clean up efforts.

Joyce McCool was one such resident and she posted about it on Plymouth-Canton Patch's Boards page.

McCool wrote, "In the drizzle, I noticed lots of kids with rakes, raking my leaf covered city lot. I opened my door to hear a shout of 'You've been raked, by East Middle School Junior Honor Society!' Parents, teacher and we all can be proud of our future leaders!"

The district says it has received an outpouring of positive feedback and appreciation from the community.
