Plymouth Cub Scout Pack Celebrates 60th Anniversary by Handing Out Gifts

Cub Scout Pack 293 of Bird Elementary is one of the oldest and largest cub scout packs in the metro Detroit area.

Normally when somebody celebrates a birthday, they receive gifts to mark the milestone - but Cub Scout Pack 293 is doing things differently.

Pack 293, which operates out of Bird Elementary School in Plymouth, marked its 60th anniversary on Tuesday. In order to celebrate, the pack will be performing several local service projects for charities as birthday gifts.

The theme for the celebration was “It’s our Birthday, and We’re Giving the Gifts”.  Pack 293 is one of the oldest and largest cub scout packs in the metro Detroit area. The inspiration for the birthday celebration came from the Cub Scout Promise, which says, “I promise to do my best to do my duty to God and my country, to help other people and to obey the law of the Pack.”
