Shoveling Snow is Just Exercise Disguised As Work!
As a routine activity this time of year in Michigan, shoveling snow can be viewed as work, but Greg Greene, author and insurance agent expresses a different approach to it for health sake instead.
Well, you didn’t think we would get away totally without a big snowfall in the metro Detroit area, did you? Not to worry; think of it as pure exercise, getting all of that snow off of your drive and walkway.
When you shovel, use your legs to propel the forward motion, flexing your thighs with each push with your arms. Upon making the lift motion, be sure to clench the abdominal area, spread your legs comfortably, use the back muscles more and the shoulder muscles less with each throw.
And remember to breathe deeply to push more oxygen to the muscles and through your systems.

Above all else, do it rhythmically, deliberately, slowly and smartly. Take breaks often and stay hydrated.
You’ll get the job done and reward your body at the same time.
