Additional statements:
Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh USA offers our deepest condolences to our Sikh sisters and brothers in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. With our common heritage and history, American Sikhs and Hindus share a unique bond unlike any other two religious communities. We pray that the souls of the deceased find peace. We commend the bravery and heroism of the members of the congregation and the Oak Creek first responders. Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured and the families of all the victims, and we hold our hands out to our sisters and brothers in their time of need.
The Catholic community is shocked and deeply saddened by the events in Oak Creek. We live in an increasingly violent world and this latest manifestation of that violence reinforces our determination to work together for peace. Our prayers are with the victims, their families and the entire Sikh community. May the mercy of the God we all share be with them at this time of trial. Eternal rest grant unto them, O God, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace.
