Ever wonder about that old house or building in Plymouth?

Learn and share about Plymouth's Historical homes and buildings!

Growing up in Canton I remember cruising Main Street before it was "outlawed." As a kid I was attracted to the historical structures.

Now a resident of Plymouth, I wanted to learn more about iconic homes and buildings. I come to find that there was so much history in Plymouth but limited information to learn all about my interests. My family (4 kids) and I decided to snap photos and try to learn about places we saw around Plymouth.

For example: The old building on Northville Road right across from Phoenix Lake (at 5 Mile Rd) There's a Wayne County Sign on it but did you know that it used to belong to Ford Motor Company? The Phoenix Ford Plant was built in 1922 (design by Albert Kahn) and was a women's-only factory that used to make electronic parts for Ford. It's now just used for storage but has lots of neat history.
