Two-rrific Storytime Class (2 year olds with caregiver) at Salem - South Lyon District Library. Our Storytime Classes teach creative expression, social skills, listening comprehension and the foundations of early literacy.

Kidz Night Out/Parents Night Out at Bricks 4 Kidz. Bricks 4 Kidz is a locally owned and operated business that provides education-based programming using LEGO® bricks. We offer a variety of programming in the schools as well as in the community. Kidz Night Out occurs monthly on Fridays.

Drop In Arts and Crafts at Lamaze Family Center. Bring your budding artists to Lamaze for a fun drop in arts and craft hour! Lamaze will provide art supplies, craft ideas, and space to be creative! You bring your little one ages 0-5. Friends and siblings welcome. $5 per child.

Baby Playgroup at the Traverwood Library. This is a time for babies up to 24 months and their grown-ups to gather and play. The Library will provide the space and a variety of toys. Each playgroup includes 15 minutes of stories, rhymes and songs.

Mother's Day Plant Sale & Fundraiser at Matthaie Botanical Gardens & Nichols Arboretum. A large selection of colorful container and hanging planters—perfect for mom!—designed and grown at Matthaei Botanical Gardens by staff and volunteers. Free admission.

Mother's Day Craft at Ypsilanti District Library. Decorate a picture frame to give to your Mom on Mother’s Day.

Railroaders’ Breakfast at The Henry Ford - America's Greatest History Attraction. Enjoy breakfast in A Taste of History with music by the Picks & Sticks Stringband, railroad-themed storytelling and a visit with our very own Village Hobo, and Sir Topham Hat!

Make a Mother's Day Card at the Pittsfield Library. Make a beautiful Mother’s Day card!

Carribbean Fun Time! at Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Let the music of the gratitude Steel Band whisk you away to the sandy beaches of the Caribbean. Join in the fun as they introduce the music and culture of the steel drums. It's a high-energy show that's sure to dazzle audiences of all ages.



Sunday, May 11:


Mother's Day Brunch at The Henry Ford - America's Greatest History Attraction. Treat Mom to an elegant Mother’s Day Brunch in Michigan’s most beautiful ballroom – Henry Ford's private ballroom in Lovett Hall. Reservations available beginning April 9, 2014. 

Mother's Day Family Swim at Goldfish Swim School - Ann Arbor. Open to the community, not just enrolled students. Mothers swim free!

Mother's Day Fairy Tea at Crazy Wisdom Bookstore at The Henry Ford - America's Greatest History Attraction. Children and their families are welcome for tea and cookies served by real fairies! Celebrate with our enchanting fairies as they serve tea, treats, and magic. Story time too! Fairy attire encouraged.

Mother's Day Breakfast at Detroit Zoo. Moms and their families are invited to celebrate Mother’s Day at the Detroit Zoo, starting with a delicious buffet breakfast among the butterflies, with access to the Butterfly Garden and the opportunity for children to make a special gift for Mom.
