Cooley Family Fun Night at Century Bowl. Friday, March 14 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm Enjoy 2 hours of bowling, great music and shoe rental is included. $6.00 per person. A portion of the proceeds will be given back to the Cooley PTO.

Painting of the Shamrocks at Gaelic League & Irish-American Club of Detroit. If interested in painting Shamrocks along the parade route, you can meet at the Gaelic League at 11 AM and then walk to Irish Plaza.

STOMP at Fox theatre Detroit. This award winning show has toured all over the world, enthralling audiences with a new type of street music in a theatrical setting.

Kidz Night Out/Parents Night Out at Bricks 4 Kidz. Bricks 4 Kidz is a locally owned and operated business that provides education-based programming using LEGO® bricks. We offer a variety of programming in the schools as well as in the community. Kidz Night Out occurs monthly on Fridays.

Fairy Gardens & Doors Workshops at Matthaie Botanical Gardens & Nichols Arboretum. Join us for two faerie and troll workshops this year. Faeries represent the beauty of the natural world, guardians of flower beds, woodlands and streams. Create a magical fairie gardens from natural materials to invite faeries into your yard.

Patricktide. A Celebration of Celtic Music, Poetry, and Dance

Maple Sugaring at Indian Springs Metropark. March is Maple Sugaring month! With Spring not too far off, the warm days and freezing nights encourage sap flow in maple trees. This is the ideal time to collect the sugary sap and boil it down into maple syrup.

Daddy & me “Lucky Charm” Bowling at The Pittsfield Township Parks & Recreation Department . Spend an afternoon wearing green, bowling, eating pizza, and having fun with your child. Maybe you’ll strike gold!

One World, One Sky: Big Bird's Adventure at Cranbrook Institute of Science. Big Bird takes viewers on an exciting discovery of the Sun, Moon, and stars. They learn about the Big Dipper and the North Star and take an imaginary trip to the Moon where they learn that the Moon is a very different place from the Earth.

Dinosaur Zoo at Broadway in Detroit - The Fisher Theatre. Take a tour of pre-historic Australia, bringing an array of ancient creatures to life on stage.You will observe and interact with extraordinarily life-like creatures, just like those that inhabited the Southern Hemisphere millions of years ago.

Healthy Kids Fitness Nutrition & Wellness Workshop at ONE Training Studio. Learn to get fit, eat healthy and live better with the ONE Training Wellness Experts. We will teach overweight kids and their families life skills that will bring the family together in wellness!



Sunday, March 16:


St Patrick's Day Parade in Detroit. The 2014 56th Detroit St. Patrick's Parade is Sunday, March 16, 2014, starting at 12:00 pm. Parade route follows Michigan Avenue through Corktown; the Irish were the largest ethnic group of newcomers to Detroit, mostly from County Cork.

Corktown Races. Corktown Race 10am Dublin Dash Mile 9:40am Kids Quarter Mile 9:30am

St Patrick's Banquet. Father Sirianni Parish Hall, Emmett, Doors open at 3:00 p.m., Dinner at 4:00 p.m., cash bar, live entertainment, $14 for adults, $7, 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased after Mass or daily at the Emmett Hardware.

A Wee Bit O' Irish.  Join Motor City Brass Band with special guests, Blackthorn, an amazing, authentic Irish Band.

Not just for kids series at the Michigan Theatre:The Teacher from the Black Lagoon and Other Story Books. Each colorful, action-packed Not Just For Kids show is about an hour long, which makes it the perfect way to introduce your child to live theater. At just $15 per ticket ($12 for members), it’s affordable fun for the whole family.
