View from the Village: Here Comes the Haunted Block Party!

Sunday afternoon is the Haunted Block Party on Liberty Street!

It’s October and Halloween is nearly upon us!

Old Village is again having its Haunted Block Party on Liberty Street between Mill and Starkweather streets.  As usual, it will be wonderful time for kids and parents alike.  This year the party will be Sunday (Oct. 30) from 12-4 p.m.  It will again be an afternoon of such delights as trick-or-treating, kiddie train rides and amazing games. There will be the Pumpkin Tower of Death, the Donut Gallows and Pumpkin Bowling.  I don’t care how good your bowling average is, you’re nobody until you can bowl a strike with a pumpkin!

Be sure to dress up — not just the kids, but the adults and pets — for there will be costume contests for all! There is also a 50/50 raffle, tickets will be available the entire week before the event at (Starkweather and Pearl) or (Starkweather and Liberty), so stop by and spend a buck or two; you might get lucky and win the pot!

This is the fifth year the Old Village Association has put on the Haunted Block Party, and it gets bigger and better every year.  Come on out; it’s a great chance to meet your neighbors and dress silly!
