View from the Village: Shopping at Red Twig Gallery

A local gallery showcasing local artists makes for great Christmas shopping!

It's time to get shopping, folks, and I have a suggestion.  Make the holidays handmade.  There are two movements afoot right now, one is to give more handmade items to support artists, and the other is to support local businesses.  You can do both at local galleries, and make your holiday gifts unique and interesting.

On Mill Street, south of the tracks, is a wonderful little gallery in Old Village.  It's called , and it is truly a treasure.  Now that Thanksgiving is over, it's time to get serious about Christmas presents, and Red Twig has some of the most unique gifts you will find. They have an amazing selection of paintings, tiles, soaps, and jewelry. They are willing to carry some very unusual objects, including some of my work. My voodoo boxes are for sale there, along with many wonderful pieces.

The gallery is a relatively small space holding an endless supply of interesting things, useful and decorative.  Red Twig will make your shopping easy and it's a great chance to support the local businesses and artists.   They are located at 796 North Mill Street, and their hours are Tuesday through Friday 1 to 6 p.m. and Saturday 1-5 p.m.
