5. Music of John Denver and John Fogelberg comes to Canton's Village Theater

Music fans can hear favorites from John Denver and Dan Fogelberg at 8 p.m. tonight with Country Roads at the Village Theater in Canton at a tribute concert. Tickets are $30 for adults, $26 for seniors and youths.

2. Local students show off hoops robot at EMU

On Saturday from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m., a Bosch-sponsored team of more than 60 students from Salem, Canton and Plymouth high schools will showcase their original, basketball-playing robot in the 2012 FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Michigan State Championship at the Convocation Center at Eastern Michigan University.
