Canton, MI - - Earlier today Natalie Mosher (D-Canton) launched her campaign for the 21st State House District.  Mosher is seeking to succeed State Representative Dian Slavens who will be termed out in 2014.

Mosher stated, “The people of the 21st District must continue to have effective representation in Lansing.  Like Dian, I will be a tireless fighter for our community and will work to restore tax fairness for seniors and retirees and protect our public schools.  My experience as an elected official and long-time community activist will help me bring maturity back to Lansing.  Our state legislature cannot continue to conduct themselves in a manner that puts us in gridlock or passes poorly thought out legislation.”

Mosher is an experienced campaigner and has already laid the groundwork for an effective and engaging grassroots campaign.

Mosher stated “In meeting after meeting with community leaders in Canton, Belleville, and Van Buren Township the response to my campaign has been overwhelmingly positive.  We have a solid campaign plan and already have folks ready to volunteer for the campaign.  This will be a true community effort to send an experienced and effective advocate to Lansing.”

Mosher was born and raised in Detroit and is a graduate of Michigan State University.  She was a teacher for close to a decade, a non-profit executive with the National Retiree Volunteer Coalition and Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, and served as a county commissioner in Erie County, Ohio.  In 2010 Natalie was the Democratic candidate in the 11th Congressional District. She and her husband Bob, a retired Ford Engineer, reside in Canton.  They have two grown sons and recently became proud grandparents.
