Retired Plymouth-Canton Administrator, Class of 2007 Grad Die Aug. 4

Our thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones over the past week.

Two men with ties to Plymouth-Canton Community Schools both passed away on Aug. 4.

Patrick L. Fitzgerald, 74, of Novi was a longtime administrator in the Plymouth-Canton School system. His funeral was held Saturday, at St. James Catholic Church in Novi. He is survived by siblings Peggy (Alan) Gapske, Katie (Robert) Granum and the late Michael (Jeanette) Fitzpatrick, and nine nieces and nephews and several cousins.

Christopher James Lanier, 24, of Canton, passed away suddenly. He played football for Plymouth-Canton High School and graduated with honors in 2007. He graduated from Michigan State University in 2013 and planned to attend University of Detroit Law School this fall. 

Lanier's funeral was held Friday at St. Kenneth Catholic Church in Plymouth. He is survived by parents John and Anne Lanier, brother Michael (Trisha) Lanier and sister Melissa (Nick) Spindler. He is also survived by niece and nephew Zoey and Jacob, grandmother Larue Lanier and numerous aunts, uncles, friends and girlfriend Leah Moubadder.
