NBC Report Tonight: Ann Romney Says Releasing More Taxes Would Give Obama Ammunition

Ann Romney talks taxes tonight on NBC's Rock Center. How badly is this issue hurting them with La Grange and Western Springs voters?

In an interview that will air tonight on NBC's Rock Center at 9 p.m., Ann Romney again repeated that the Romney family would not make any more of their tax information public.

The reason she gives to reporter Natalie Morales in the interview is that releasing more tax information would only give more fodder for Obama attacks.

"We have been very transparent to what's legally required of us," Romney said. "There's going to be no more tax releases given."

You can see a clip from the interview here on the Huffington Post.

Both Republicans and Democrats have called on the Romney family to release more of their tax information, and the campaign has come under a lot of fire recently for not doing so.

The most recent polling data from the website Real Clear Politics shows that Obama is ahead of Romney by a 3.5 percent margin.

The issue appears to hurt Romney with middle class voters, as a recent CBS News article explores.

In Local Focus today, we're putting that question before voters in La Grange, La Grange Park and Western Springs. Does Mitt Romney's refusal to release more of his tax information make you want to vote for him less?

Tell us why you think Romney won't release more taxes, and how the issue is influencing your decision this election.

I will vote for economic freedom for my children and for their children.

Joseph, I appreciate your reply. I assume you vote democratic; my question to you would be, were you equally disgusted at the lack of vetting of Obama? We still know little about the man.. College transcripts? Associations with radicals - though that was largely dismissed. Romney has given what the law asks regarding tax returns. Isn't it silly to get off on this tangent when the economy is circling the bowl? It is a distraction, and ideologues are biting. You have vilified the man and his wife(?) simply because they are successful. This country pushes everyone to succeed, then it appears once they do, folks like yourself demonize them. Biden, Pelosi, Kerry and the like are rich beyond the majority of Americans.. Are they snobs as well? Did you attach that vitriol to Kerry's wife - the Heintz ketchup billionaire capitalist? I doubt it. Ben: I stand corrected, it was 5 years for Kerry. I hesitate to think the dems wouldn't have asked Heintz-Kerry for hers even though she wasn't running - if Kerry was a repub.

Jos R. Martan-- You continually speak of the "country club snob of a wife"...what the hell are you talking about? Please provide us with some kind of evidence of that statement. It makes you seem like a lunatic. If you are basing that on the type of clothes Ann wears...ummm, have you seen Michell's wardrobe? Maybe you are basing in on the vacations she takes...oh, whoops, have you seen Michell's bills for her outings. How about on the charitable donations...nope, Ann gives way more both in amounts and percentages. Maybe on something else? Please enlighten us all....

True, Billy. Does anybody recall the $400 gym shoes Michelle Obama wore to the soup kitchen? Snob, or simply detached and out of touch with her constituancy? Wait, one more thing: where has Michelle's husband been playing those hundreds of rounds of golf when he should be working on his jobs committee? C-o-u-n-t-r-y C-l-u-u-b-s?

Mutt Money won't talk about his gutter cult - you know, the cult he belongs to that was founded by that illiterate bumpkin that 'translated' "golden tablets" he got from 'an angel' ? Now he won't tell us any more about his secret Swiss bank accounts - or what kind of taxes he pays. Lots of secrets with this cult member. Let's start with "Where is Kolob ?" and go from there.
