"No Cat Left Behind" Adoption Drive

The Humane Society of Huron valley hopes that families who have been waiting to adopt a cat will head over to the shelter, located in Ann Arbor this weekend, and adopt a friendly feline friend!  All adult cats over 5-months-old will be available for a FREE adoption, November 8 – 10, 2013.

“The holidays are coming and so is the cold weather.  During this time of year, we see many more cats brought in by our Rescue Team and  concerned residents.  Some cats can survive quite well outside, but others have been recently abandoned and may be sick or hurt.  The cold puts them in greater peril and they need our help now,” said Deb Kern, HSHV Marketing Director. “This event will ensure we can give them the safety, warmth, and care they need and to find them the loving homes they deserve.”

Every cat ready for adoption at HSHV has been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, tested for feline leukemia, given flea preventative and given a microchip I.D., and you will also receive a discount for your first initial health exam at our HSHV Veterinary Clinic.

HSHV is open 7 days a week starting at 11 am for adoptions. People looking to see which cats are available can go to our website and view descriptions and photos of all the cats. The site is updated instantly throughout the day as animals are adopted or made available.

“We’ve heard some people say that FREE adoptions lead to animals going into homes where they are not cared for properly,” adds Kern. “But there have been multiple studies proving that waiving adoption fees does not bring in unsavory adopters. Plus, we meet with every family to discuss the real costs of caring for a pet and we always do our best to match the family with a cat that will fit into their home and lifestyle. This kind of adoption event is a real win/win for cats and the lucky family who gets a new loving companion.”

Do you have room in your heart and home for an adult cat?  Adopt a cat at HSHV this weekend so that there will be “No Cats Left Behind” in the cold.
