Poll: Which Holiday Sweet Do You Like Best ... and Least?

Not all treats are created equal. Tell us what you love and loathe.

Taste is highly personal, particularly when that taste is literally on the tip of the tongue.

So it's no surprise that when it comes to the sugary, colorful indulgences served this week, one person's delight may be another's disgust.

Fortunately, abundant choices at office parties, family gatherings and neighborhood visits let us grab what we savor and skip what's out of favor.

In these polls, tell what you crave and what makes you cringe. Pick one on each list. Then feel free to tell us in comments what we've missed.

Most any Christmas treat is good but I did not see my favorites come to the list. That would be anything pumpkin - pumpkin pie my first favorite and then pecan pie. Mmmmm, I also love Christmas cookies and Snickerdoodles being a favorite or Russion Tea Cakes. I do like some fruitcakes and yes Awrey's was a pretty good one. Egg nog from Caulder's Dairy is the best!

Hmm. Sounds like the next thing we will want to ask for is some of these favorite recipes ... they are making me hungry!

Hi Alan! Glad to see you writing about holiday desserts. But, I have to say that I'm not found of most of the items on your list. There are a few traditional Italian desseerts which are served regularly at my family dinner table. Tortoni made with a zabalione base has been voted as #1, followed by canoli and pignoli cookies. You also didn't share your favoite dessert.......

Vienetta makes me smile, Geri, as does panettone from your people. I assume you modestly omitted other skillfully rendered selections in your repertoire such as struffoli, pizzelle, panforte and perhaps -- be still, my stomach -- Zuppa Inglese. Thanks for commenting. Mangia bene and Buon Natale to you and The Commissioner!
