Rep. Kerry Bentivolio invites High School students to enter Congressional STEM "App" Contest

Congressman Kerry Bentivolio invites all high school students from the Michigan's 11th Congressional District to participate in the first annual Congressional Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Academic Competition. “The House STEM App Challenge” is designed to engage student’s creativity and encourage their involvement in STEM education fields.

The competition is a nationwide event where high school students design an "app", also known as a software application, for a mobile phone, tablet, or computer device.

"As a former teacher, I'm excited to offer this opportunity to the high school students in my district," said Rep. Kerry Bentivolio. "STEM training empowers our students to be successful in the ever-changing global economy and new emerging high-tech fields."

The deadline for entry in April 30, 2014. Contest details can be found online at http://bentivolio.house.gov/app-contest.
