Sharland offers just whats needed to remedy the situation. Plymouth Township needs new leadeship and Sharland understands what it takes to return safety and security to our community, along with prosperity.
Sharland has been very concerned about the dangerous staffing levels of the Fire Department, and the Township boards plan to train Police Officers to be firemen. For over 70 years Richard Sharland has lived, and farmed land throughout what is now many residential neighborhoods.

Richard Sharland grew up in the Township where his family operated the Gottschalk Turkey Farm, his Grandfather started in 1936. The original farmhouse is where Richard and his wife of 43 years reside today off North Territorial. Their two Daughters, and Grandchildren all were raised and currently live in the Township. His families history, and ruputation is widespread, in giving back to the community.
Richard graduated from Plymouth high school, attended Schoolcraft College, and Michigan State University. After Graduating College Sharland started his career raising corn, soybeans, and winter wheat, as well a keeping the Gottschalk Turkey Farm operating. The turkey farm was very popular to residents and businesses. His family history is deep rooted into the fabric of Plymouth Township, and there generosity in giving back to the community was well known.

Seeing how Plymouth Township evolved, and understanding the dynamics of what works, and what doesn't, Sharland offers a wealth of wisdom needed in the Supervisor's office. Sharland will restore leadership, transparency and accountibility to the office. Sharland is sad to see the community he has lived in for nearly a lifetime deteriorate due to a group of opportunists and there self serving interests. Sharland offers a down to earth, common sense approach to leadership. Richard Sharland's Supervision would truly enrich our local government.
