37-Year-old Northville Man Who Ran Away with Plymouth Township Teen to be Charged Thursday
Robert Louis Messer faces criminal sexual conduct charges at the 35th District Court in Plymouth.
The 37-year-old Northville man who police say ran away with a 15-year-old Plymouth Township teen faces charges of criminal sexual conduct.
Robert Louis Messer will have a video arraignment in 35th District Court in Plymouth on Thursday. He is being charged with one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct First Degree, three counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct Third Degree and one count of Accosting a Minor for Immoral Purposes.
Messer was a long-time friend of the girl’s family, Plymouth Township police said.

On Sunday, Oct. 27, he picked up the teen from her home in Plymouth Township and drove her to his home in Northville, police said. At about 2:30 p.m., Messer and the girl were seen leaving the home together, police said.
Officials say that Messer had sexual contact with the girl at locations in Wayne and Washtenaw County.

The pair was found by police in Washtenaw County on Tuesday.
