45 Window Screens Cut During Allen Elementary Break-In

Police say screens were cut in attempt to get into the building.

Plymouth Township Police were called to Allen Elementary on Haggerty Road for a break-in on July 22, according to a police report. 

According to the report, the portable music unit located at the back of the property was broken into and the locked entry door was damaged. 

The unit also had one window open and a broken screen on the ground, but nothing was stolen from inside, the report said.

Police said the unit's alarm went off at 1 a.m. 

After the initial report was filed, the school called to report that all the screens on the building, approximately 45, had been cut at the same time as the break-in, the report said.

Police said the bottom length of the screens had been cut in attempt to get into the building, the report said.

According to the report, police were able to get fingerprints, which Livonia Police were able to connect with a man who had been cited for possessing drug paraphernalia on June 29. 

A warrant was issued for his arrest, the report said.
