Arrest Made in Canton Bank Robbery

Police say they have arrested a 28-year-old man they believe to be responsible for the Comerica Bank robbery Thursday afternoon.

Canton Police arrested a 28-year-old Westland man Friday in connection with the robbery of the Comerica Bank branch located inside the Kroger at Ford and Canton Center Roads.

Police said all information is being forwarded to the Wayne County Prosecutors Office for review.

According to an earlier news release, the man entered the bank Thursday around 4 p.m., passed a note requesting money, and implied that he had a gun. The man then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police distributed surveillance photos, asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect.
