Break-In Reported at Plymouth Township Home

The following information was provided by the Plymouth Township Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Plymouth Township Police responded Jan. 31 to a home on Edinburgh Drive near Beck Road for a report of breaking and entering, according to a police report.

According to the report, police observed the front door to the residence broken open and a dining room chair holding it shut with part of the door frame on the floor inside of the home. Police also noticed the dresser drawers in the master bedroom and bathroom were open, but other rooms in the house did not appear to be disturbed, the report indicated.

The homeowner told police she left her home at 7:25 a.m. on Jan. 31 and her husband left about an hour later. She told police she noticed the damage shortly after returning home at noon that day.

The woman told police a light gray safe was stolen, which contained cash and sensitive documents. She told police a pearl necklace also was taken from the bedroom.

Police obtained fingerprints from a Detroit Tigers ticket that had been removed from the dresser, but there currently are no suspects in the break-in.
