Canton police are working with Washtenaw County officials to investigate a bullet hole reported in a car in Canton last Friday. There is a possibility the incident is related to reported vehicle shootings in Bridgewater and Pittsfield townships early this week.
According to Sgt. Dave Schreiner of the Canton Township Police Department, a man who commutes from the Ann Arbor area to work at Michigan Avenue and Beck Road in Canton reported a hole in the door of his vehicle that looked like a bullet hole.
"This was reported during pretty much the same timeframe as the other shootings, and we wanted to make sure we help get them the information they need to investigate this case," Schreiner said. "We want to see if there is any possible connection."
On Monday, Michigan State Police responded to a report of two vehicles being shot while they were being driven on Austin Road between Schneider and Ernst roads in Bridgewater Township around 6 p.m.
A third shooting was reported around 6:15 p.m. Monday on Michigan Avenue near Industrial Drive in Pittsfield Township.
Gordy Schick, deputy police chief in Pittsfield Township, said officers are following every possible to lead in connection with this case.
"We're looking for the public's help to for any leads to investigate," he said.
