California Man Tries to Steal 31 Cans of Spray Paint from Kmart
Police said an employee was hit in the face after confronting the man outside of the store.
A 22-year-old Los Angeles, California man was arrested on Sept. 22 on third-degree charges of retail fraud, according to a Plymouth Township Police report.
Police said the man walked out of the Kmart on Ann Arbor Road with 31 cans of spray paint without paying, the report said.
A Kmart Loss Prevention employee told police he saw the man carrying a hand basket past the checkout lanes and confronted him outside the store, the report said.
The employee told police that the man spun around and hit him in the nose, but was unsure if it was intentional or just an accident caused by the man suddenly turning around. The employee told police he did not want to press assault charges. the report said.
