Canton Crime Report: Aug. 16 and 17

Thieves took items from five vehicles parked in Canton, according to initial police reports.

Canton Police responded to the following incidents, according to Canton Township's reports to crimemapping.com:

Aug. 16

  • At 6:30 p.m., the report of a vehicle break-in and theft in the 1700 block of Whittier Drive.
  • At 9:36 p.m., the report of a vehicle break-in and theft in the 46900 block of Bartlett Drive.
  • At 10 p.m. the report of vandalism on the 4500 block of Trails Court.

Aug. 17

  • At 12:53 a.m. , the report of a vehicle break-in and theft in the in the 44500 block of Whitman.
  • At 1 a.m., a case of suspected marijuana possession near the intersection of Hanford and North Morton Taylor roads.
  • At 2 a.m., the report of a vehicle break-in and theft in the 1600 block of Longfellow.
  • At 2:12 a.m., the report of a vehicle break-in and theft in the 1700 block of Longfellow.
  • At 8 p.m., a case of suspected marijuana possession on the 7600 block of Sussex Court.

Anyone having information on these or other incidents can provide information anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 800-SPEAKUP (800-773-2587) or visiting the   website and clicking the "Speak Up" link. Tips leading to an arrest will result in a cash reward up to $1,000.
