Canton Firefighters Commended for Fighting Blaze

Saturday fire ravages Canton Township home northwest of Warren and Beck roads.

Canton Township trustee Pat Williams commended firefighters for what he called a "phenomenal job" battling a blaze Saturday in the 7200 block of Wadebridge, according to the Canton Observer.

The 3,600-foot home, northwest of Warren and Beck, was not occupied when the fire occurred at about 2:15 p.m. Saturday, but suffered heavy damage, the report said.

Williams told the Observer he lives across the street from the house.

“I thought they did a phenomenal job,” Williams told the Observer. “They certainly saved the homes on either side of the property due to their quick response.”

According to the report, fire officials aren't yet sure what caused the fire.
