David Kwiatkowski was arrested just before the outbreak was announced.

David Kwiatkowski, the traveling medical technician from Canton  this month with spreading his hepatitis C disease to 30 patients in New Hampshire by using their needles to get high, is no stranger to police.

Foster's Daily Democrat reported the arrest stemmed from a car crash in Massachusetts. Exeter police arrested him on a warrant after Kwiatkowski failed to appear in court.

The arrest happened about two weeks before state health officials the hepatitis C outbreak that Kwiatkowski allegedly caused.

Kwiatkowski is currently being treated for hepatitis C at a Massachusetts hospital. He is scheduled to appear in court early next week on charges of fraud and tampering. He faces up to 24 years in jail and a $250,000 fine.
