Canton Man Charged in Hepatitis C Outbreak Had Prior Police Run-in
David Kwiatkowski was arrested just before the outbreak was announced.
David Kwiatkowski, the traveling medical technician from Canton this month with spreading his hepatitis C disease to 30 patients in New Hampshire by using their needles to get high, is no stranger to police.
Kwiatkowski was arrested by Exeter, NH police May 19 on a warrant for misconduct after an accident, according to police logs. He was released on $500 personal recognizance bail.
Foster's Daily Democrat reported the arrest stemmed from a car crash in Massachusetts. Exeter police arrested him on a warrant after Kwiatkowski failed to appear in court.

The arrest happened about two weeks before state health officials the hepatitis C outbreak that Kwiatkowski allegedly caused.
Kwiatkowski is currently being treated for hepatitis C at a Massachusetts hospital. He is scheduled to appear in court early next week on charges of fraud and tampering. He faces up to 24 years in jail and a $250,000 fine.
