Canton Man Says He was Threatened in Online Spat to Watch his Back

The exchange between two men on a social media started when the Canton man criticized a man from Indiana for being rude. In turn, the Indiana man reportedly said he was coming to Canton to settle the matter.

A spat about civility on a social media site prompted a 51-year-old Canton man to file a police report after he said a Fort Wayne, IN, man warned him to keep looking over his shoulder because he was planning to come to Michigan.

The exchange last weekend started when the Canton man said he called out the Indiana man for being rude to people on a web site while being unable to handle criticism himself, The Observer & Eccentric reports.

That’s when the Indiana man reportedly told the Michigan man he was planning a trip to Canton.

The Canton Police Department took a report, telling the man to contact them if there were any signs the other man had followed through on his plans.
