Canton Police Arrest Man Accused of Stealing Bedsheets

The following information was provided by the Canton Township Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Canton Township Police responded Nov. 8 to Kohl’s, 44444 Ford Road, for a report of a shoplifting incident, according to a police report.

The store’s loss prevention officer told police he saw a man on security video selecting sheets and concealing them in his jacket, the report said.

The officer told police he stopped the man as he tried to exit the store, the report said, where he was turned over to police, which took the man into custody as charges pend.

Police arrest man accused of attempting fraudulent refund

Canton Police responded Nov. 12 to Kohl’s, 47250 Michigan Ave., for a report of a man removing tags from two pairs of pants and attempting a refund, according to a police report.

The store’s loss prevention officer told police he saw the man select the pants, remove the tags and attempt a refund, the report said, for a total of $53.40. The employee took the man into custody on suspicion of misrepresentation until police arrived.

Police cited the man on charges of third-degree retail fraud.
