Canton Police Arrest Woman On Charges of Paraphernalia Possession

The following information was provided by the Canton Township Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Canton Township Police arrested a woman on charges of narcotic equipment and paraphernalia possession 10:54 p.m. Nov. 16 near the 39000 block of Ford Road, according to a police report. 

The responding officer was dispatched to Emagine Theaters for a disorderly female in the lobby, the report said. The officer located her on Ford Road where she was walking in the middle of the exit lane making cars drive slowly behind her, according to the report. The woman was carrying flowers and had an abrasion on her knee, the report said, and she said she had been drinking for about seven hours and had smoked weed and crack.

The officer found her to have six warrants including traffic violations and larceny, according to the report. The officer arrested her and, while searching her, found a white porcelain pipe, the report said. She was given a hearing 8:30 a.m. Dec. 4 at 35th District Court.

Man Arrested on Charges of Retail Fraud at Walmart

Police arrested a man on charges of retail fraud to the third degree 9:16 p.m. Nov. 16 at Walmart, 45555 Michigan Ave., according to a police report.

The responding officers were called because a male who had stolen items and was attempting to escape from a loss prevention officer with a knife in a sheath on his belt, the report said.

The loss prevention officer said he saw the man conceal a pair of gloves and a doe scent bottle from the store and leave without paying, according to the report. When the loss prevention officer confronted him in the parking lot, the man returned the gloves but refused to return to the store, the report said. The man was given a hearing for Dec. 4 at 35th District Court.
