The following information was provided by the Canton Township Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Canton Township Police met with Highland Park officers in the White Castle parking lot on Telegraph Road at Interstate 96 to take a man into custody on a warrant from Canton, according to a police report.

When police searched the man before entering the police station’s booking room, a plastic Ziploc bag fell from the man’s pocket onto the floor containing what the officer believed to be heroin, the report said.

The officer also removed the man’s shoes and checked his socks and found a small blue pill in his right sock, the report said. The man told police the pill was Xanax and said he used it for pain, the report said. He told police the bag had heroin, but that it belonged to his girlfriend’s brother.
