Canton Police Identify Victims in Fatal Accident

Canton Police have identified two victims in a Tuesday, the Canton Observer is reporting.

Brooke Kennedy, 18, and Danielle Beavers, 19, both of Belleville, were identified as victims in the crash, the report said.

The accident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. Tuesday on eastbound Michigan Avenue at Canton Center/Belleville Road.

Both women were passengers in a yellow Chevrolet Cavalier headed south on Canton Center Road when a white Chevrolet Monte Carlo struck the passenger side of the Cavalier. Canton Police Det. Sgt. David Shreiner told the Observer the two women appeared to have been killed instantly.

“Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident, but we are going to continue to investigate to determine for sure if it was or was not,” Schreiner said. “It initially does not appear to be a factor.”

While the circumstances leading to the crash remain under investigation, police have said alcohol and speed .
