Canton Police Seek Help Identifying Armed Robbery Suspect

An unidentified man robbed the 7-11 on Warren Road with what is believed to be a handgun early Tuesday morning, police said.

Canton Township Police are seeking help identifying the suspect of an armed robbery of the 7-11 on Warren Road early Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday, around 2:55 a.m. the man entered the 7-11 store and demanded money from the clerk while pointing what looked like a gun at her.

The clerk was restrained and the man ran out of the store. Canton Police Sgt. Craig Wilsher said he couldn't elaborate on how the employee was restrained because it was an on-going investigation.

Wilsher said no shots were fired during the robbery and the clerk was not injured.

The man is described as being 25 to 30-years-old and between 6-feet-tall and 6-foot 3-inches tall. He was wearing a dark hoodie and dark pants with a nylon over his head and drove a dark-colored Volkswagen Jetta, mid-2000's, with a white stripe along the bottom of the car and aftermarket rims.

Police are asking anyone with information on the identity of the suspect to please contact the Canton Police Department at 734-394-5400. Crime Stoppers will also take anonymous tips at 1-800-SPEAK UP, or online to www.1800speakup.org. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for a tip that leads an arrest.
