Sheryl Ann Lamothe of Canton was arraigned Wednesday in connection with a shooting Tuesday in Rochester Hills, according to Oakland County Sheriff's officials.

Lamothe, 57, faces charges of assault with intent to murder and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony. She was arranged Wednesday in front of Magistrate Marie Soma of the 52-3rd District Court and was given a $100,000 cash/surety bond.

In addition to the bond, Lamothe was ordered to have a GPS tether if released and is forbidden to have contact with the victim, a 54-year-old man.

Lamothe is due back in court at 10 a.m. on Nov. 5 in front of Judge A. Nicholson for a preliminary examination.

According to Sheriff's officials, deputies responded at about 7:38 a.m. Tuesday to a residence at the 400 block of Sandalwood Drive for a report of a man who had been shot. When deputies arrived, they found a 54-year-old man who had been shot in the stomach and groin area. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to Sheriff's officials.

According to the department, Lamothe is believed to have shot the man with a handgun before fleeing the scene. The Oakland County Sheriff's Office dispatch center received a call later in the morning from a man who said he was with the woman at a strip mall in the area of Bywater and Union Lake Road in Commerce Township. Sheriff's officials arrived at the scene and took Lamothe into custody.
