Christmas Eve Crash Causes Power Outage in Canton

Two people were injured in the accident on Cherry Hill Road.

Canton Police say alcohol and speed may have been a factor in a two-car crash Christmas Eve that knocked out power to homes in the area of Cherry Hill Road and Canton Center.

One of the vehicles hit a utility pole, injuring the driver, a 20-year-old Canton woman and her passenger, a 48-year-old Canton resident, according to a Detroit Free Press report. The other driver, a 32-year-old Canton man, was not injured.

Power was restored within a few hours, according to the report.
