Crime Report: Bikes Stolen in Separate Break-Ins

The following information was supplied by the Plymouth Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Breaking and entering; Schwinn stolen

met with a victim at the department at 11:25 a.m. Sept. 22 regarding a theft from the man’s garage, according to a police report.

The man told police he locked his detached garage at 11:30 p.m. Sept. 9. At 8 a.m. the next day, he said he noticed his red and white Schwinn bicycle was missing, according to the report. He told police there was no damage to the doors of his garage. He told police he later noticed that a gas can, two sledgehammers and a hand truck also were missing from the garage.

Home invasion; mountain bike stolen

A woman told police that between Sept. 18 and Sept. 26, someone entered her attached garage and stole her maize and blue Gary Fisher 10-speed mountain bike. She told police that on one night during the time frame when the bike was stolen, she had left her garage door open overnight, but she said she could not remember which night it was. The woman told police there was no damage to her residence or garage, and nothing else appeared to be stolen. According to the police report, the woman could not list any suspects or witnesses.

Window smashed by rock

Plymouth Township Police were dispatched Sept. 22 to Ball Street in response to a victim who said his window was smashed about 9:45 p.m., according to a police report. He told police he was in the basement of his home and that his wife was in a bedroom when they heard the sound of a large crash in the family room. They told police they initially thought a cat had knocked something over.

The man told police he made his way to the family room and saw his front window had been smashed with a rock. The man told police he made his way outside the residence but did not locate anyone in the area. Police have no suspects.

Cigarettes stolen from Mobil station

Plymouth Township Police were dispatched Sept. 22 to the at 1545 W. Ann Arbor Rd. for a complaint of a man who had just left the station with two cartons of cigarettes, according to a police report.

A woman who identified herself as an employee at the station told police that at 11:19 p.m., a  man entered the store and asked to buy two cartons of Newport 100 cigarettes. She told police that when she placed the cigarettes on the counter, the man grabbed them out of her hand and left through the store’s front door.

She described the man to police as white, about 30 years old, 5-foot-10, 175 pounts and wearing a desert camouflage hoodie. The value of the two cartons was $126.06.
