Crime Report: Canton Police Arrest Woman on Heroin Charges

The following information was provided by the Canton Township and Plymouth Township police departments. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

responded July 27 to a trailer park at the 41000 block of Old Michigan Avenue for a separate matter, leading to a heroin arrest, according to a police report.

While investigating a report of someone shooting the lights out at a trailer park, police spoke with a female exiting a trailer in the area. The woman provided police a false name, which didn’t turn up any results in police computer systems. The woman then told police she had a felony warrant out of Westland for heroin possession and was taken into custody for Westland officers.

Officers obtained the woman’s purse and she told officers she had some heroin in side a small black case that also contained some uncapped syringes, warning the officers about the needles so they wouldn’t get injured.

When police searched the purse with the woman, they recovered several folded-up lotto tickets, cotton swabs, a small pair of scissors, a glass crack pipe, a Vicodin pill and several needles and different parts to needles. The woman told police there was heroin inside one of the folded-up lotto tickets, but wasn’t sure which one.

Police arrested the woman on charges of heroin, paraphernalia and possession of synthetic narcotics for the found Vicodin pill.

Theft reported at business

were dispatched July 23 to 1311 W. Ann Arbor Road for a report of a theft from a business, according to a police report.

A woman told police she received a call from her boss advising her to call police after an aluminum truck cap and a scrap condenser were noticed missing from the rear parking lot of the business.

The caller told police both items were in the rear lot lying on the ground near a fence.
