Crime Report: Canton Woman Reports Burglary Attempt

responded July 8 to a home at the 51000 block of Mott for a report of an apparent burglarly attempt, according to a police report.

A resident at the home told police she was sleeping until she awoke after hearing loud music outside, the report said. She told police the music then turned off and she heard her window sliding upwards above her window-mounted air-conditioning unit.

The woman told police she then moved, which caused the bed to squeak, at which point an apparent person outside ran away from the woman’s home, the report said.

Police said the window was not locked, as it was resting on top of a window-mounted air-conditioning unit.

Plymouth Township woman reports stolen lawn ornaments

responded July 4 to Baywood for a report of items stolen from a woman’s yard, according to a police report.

The homeowner told police she left her house July 3 and returned the next day to find two lawn ornaments removed from the front yard of her house, the report said.

The woman told police she doesn’t know who might have taken the items. She described one item as an iron stand with a silver glass ball on top, and the other was an iron flower with a glass ball on top that lights up in multiple colors, the report said.
