Crime Report: Driver, Passenger Arrested on Drug Charges

stopped a vehicle May 12 that had a cracked windshield, yielding a drug arrest, according to a police report.

According to the report, officers observed a red Ford F-150 traveling eastbound on Joy Road and pulled it over inside the parking lot. The officer who made contact with the driver detected the smell of marijuana, the report said.

The driver denied smoking marijuana when asked by the officer, and neither said they owned a medical marijuana card.

When the officer asked the driver where the rest of the marijuana was located, she said there was nothing in the car, but the officer noticed a piece of green substance on her shoulder, the report said. The officer said the driver put the suspected marijuana in her mouth, and police handcuffed her and patted her down.

While searching the passenger, police found Vicodin in his pocket, the report said.

Police also found a small marijuana cigarette under the driver’s side seat near the rear of the vehicle, the report said.

The driver was arrested on charges of marijuana possession and is due at 35th District Court in Plymouth on May 30. The passenger was cited on charges of possession of a controlled substance and is due in court on the same date, the report said.
