Crime Report: Laptop, Briefcase Reported Missing From Car

were dispatched May 21 to the 700 block of Sorel for a report of a vehicle break-in, according to a police report.

The vehicle owner’s girlfriend told police her boyfriend was in and out of the house while loading his 1998 Dodge Ram for a job out of state when someone took a briefcase from his unlocked truck, the report said.

The briefcase is described as a black leather case with a Slifco Electric tag. Inside the briefcase was an HP laptop computer and accessories, the report said.

While police visited the residence, a neighbor drove by and said he lived on Pheasant Creek and his vehicle had been gone through, but nothing was taken, the report said.
