Crime Report: Man Accused of Taking XBox 360 Kinect Device

The following information was provided by the Canton Township and Plymouth Township police departments. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

were dispatched June 21 to , 45555 Michigan Ave., for a report of a man in custody who was accused of stealing a pocketknife and an Xbox 360 Kinect video game sensor, according to a police report.

When police arrived, the man told police he was sorry and that it was the first time he had stolen anything, the report said.

The store’s loss prevention officer told police he saw the man on the store’s surveillance video removing a security device from the sensor’s box and placing the sensor and a knife in his bag and leaving through the store’s garden center without offering payment. The store’s loss prevention officer stopped the man outside, the report said, and escorted him back to the loss prevention office.

The total amount of the items was $160.97.

The man was arrested on charges of third-degree retail fraud with a July 3 court date.

Prescription drugs reported missing from car

responded June 22 to Gold Arbor Road for a report of prescription drugs taken from a vehicle, according to a police report.

The vehicle owner told police at 2 p.m. on June 19 he and his son went to a CVS store to pick up two prescriptions. He told police when they left the pharmacy in their white 1986 Pontiac Trans Am, they went to a hearing aid store in Canton, then went to Mickey Shorr on Ford Road in Canton before returning home. The man told police he believed the medication still was in the car when the two returned home and he forgot to take it out. It wasn't in the car when they checked on it later, he said.

The vehicle owner and his son couldn’t provide any possible suspects.
