Crime Report: Plymouth Township Woman Reports Car Missing

The following information was supplied by the Plymouth Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Plymouth Township Police investigated a possible car theft on Lilley Road on March 30, according to a police report.

The vehicle's owner told police she parked her silver 2002 Dodge Durango in the parking lot east of her apartment at 9 p.m. March 29, the report said. When she returned the following morning, the woman told police the Durango was missing.

The woman told police the driver's side front door does not always lock properly, the report said. She told police she didn't have any valuable items in her car. The incident remains under investigation.

Woman recovers missing money 

Plymouth Township Police responded March 31 to a restaurant on North Beck Road to speak with a woman who reported money missing from her purse, according to a police report.

The woman told police she arrived to her place of work at 9 a.m. on March 31, at which time she placed her purse on the counter closest to the door while she attended a staff meeting, the report said. When she left the meeting at 10:15 a.m., she told police the money was missing from the server booklet in her purse. She said she had last seen the money when she filled up on gas in Livonia, the report said.

On April 1, police returned to the restaurant to speak with manager, who said he found an envelope with the server's name written on it that contained the exact amount of money missing from her purse.

The woman told police she was glad to have the cash returned and does not wish to prosecute.
