Crime Report: Police Arrest Man Accused of Stealing Cologne

The following information was provided by the Canton Township Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Canton Township Police responded June 1 to , 41920 Ford Road, for a report of a shoplifting incident, according to a police report.

The store’s loss prevention officer told police she was conducting video surveillance when she saw a man select a box of cologne and conceal it in the waistband of his pants, the report said.  She told police the man handed back the cologne when stopped by loss prevention, then ran away.

Police arrested the man at a nearby motel, where he was staying with his mother.

The cologne was valued at $19.99.

Police arrested the man on charges of third-degree retail fraud.
