Crime Report: Police Respond to Apparent Vehicle Break-Ins

The following information was provided by the Plymouth Township Police. It does not indicate a conviction.

Plymouth Township Police responded April 9 to Willoway Court for a report of items taken from a vehicle, according to a police report.

The vehicle owner told police that at 5:15 a.m. on April 9, he noticed the rear driver’s side window of his vehicle had been smashed and his laptop computer was missing, the report said. The man said the last time he saw the laptop was 7:30 p.m. on April 8.

He told the police the computer was an HP laptop in a black case with a U.S. Steel sticker on the computer, the report said. He also told police his passport was stolen. The incident remains under investigation.

Laptop computer, iPod, golf clubs reported missing from vehicle

Plymouth Township Police responded at 8:42 a.m. on April 9 to East Hill Top Drive for a report of items taken from a vehicle, according to a police report.

The owner of the vehicle told police between 8 p.m.  on April 8 and 8:15 a.m. on April 9, someone had broken into his vehicle, taking an iPod Touch, three golf clubs, his work laptop computer, a messenger bag and a digital camera, the report said.

The incident remains under investigation.

Woman's purse recovered, but cash remains missing

Plymouth Township Police recovered a woman’s purse that was taken from the owner’s vehicle, but several items remain missing, according to a police report. Officers responded April 9 to Amherst Court in response to a missing purse, the report said.

The owner of the vehicle told police that between 11:30 p.m. on April 8 and 10 a.m. on April 9, someone had entered her unlocked Ford Edge, which was parked in her driveway, taking her purse that contained banking documents, two Visa cards, an American Express card, a black wallet, cash and her driver’s license, the report said.

No other damage was reported to the vehicle, the report said.

According to the report, the officer located the purse in a blue spruce about 30 feet from the woman’s vehicle, but the banking documents and cash were missing.

The incident remains under investigation.
