Crime Report: Stolen Trailers; Man Arrested for Marijuana Possession

The following information was supplied by the Plymouth Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Trailers stolen in separate incidents 

Plymouth Township police were dispatched Aug. 5 to Pleasant View Court to meet with a man who said his 20-foot utility trailer was stolen, according to a police report.

The man told police he parked the trailer in the street in front of a job site. He told police he arrived at the site that morning and noticed the trailer was missing. He spoke with his neighbors, who said the trailer was there at 1 a.m., and they noticed it missing at 6:30 a.m. The trailer is 20 feet long, black with white rims and had ramps for the man's Bobcat. Police have no suspects.

Plymouth Township police also met with a man Aug. 4 at the station who wanted to report the theft of a trailer from , 13101 Eckles Rd. in Plymouth Township, where it was stored, according to a police report. The man told police the last time the trailer was actually seen was in March, when he left it at the business. The company first thought the trailer was stolen when it was discovered missing during inventory, according to the police report. It has not been located.

Man arrested for possession of marijuana, pipe

Plymouth Township police were patrolling at Haggerty Road north of Ann Arbor Road on Aug. 3, when they ran the plate of a Ford Crown Victoria four-door vehicle, according to a police report. The officers observed the plate was registered to a 2001 Kia, the report said. The officers followed the vehicle to southbound Interstate 275, south of Ann Arbor Road, and stopped the car for having improper plates. The man admitted to police he had marijuana and a pipe in his possession, so police instructed him to get out of his vehicle, according to the report.

The man, who lives in Newport, MI, was handcuffed and searched, and police found a dime-sized bag of marijuana in his front pocket, according to the report. The vehicle was searched; another dime-sized bag of marijuana was found in his ashtray, and a pipe was found between the seats, the report said. The vehicle was impounded and the man was taken to the police department, where he was ticketed for possession of marijuana.

Laptop stolen from car

Plymouth Township police met with a man at 4:40 p.m. Aug. 8 to investigate a stolen laptop, according to a police report. The man told police someone stole his company-owned laptop computer, a Dell Precision 2500, from inside his vehicle. He told police he last saw the laptop in his vehicle at 12:30 p.m. July 30, while driving home from Detroit. He told police he returned home, leaving his vehicle parked and unlocked in his driveway at North Canton Center Road in Plymouth Township. He told police he noticed the laptop was missing from his vehicle before driving to work Aug. 1.
