Crime Report: Woman Accused of Taking Shirt from Kohl's in Canton

responded Aug. 1 to , 47250 Michigan Ave., for a report of shoplifting, according to a police report.

The store’s loss prevention officer told police he saw a woman conceal a shirt and exit the store, the report said.

The employee told police the woman had entered a fitting room with two pairs of jeans and a shirt. When she left the fitting room, she wasn’t carrying any items. When the employee checked the fitting room, only the pairs of jeans were left behind, the report said.

Police contacted the woman outside a nearby business and she admitted concealing the shirt in her purse before hiding it in her car, the report said.

The shirt was valued at $38.

According to the report, the woman had previous run-ins with law enforcement for shoplifting. The woman was turned over to her legal guardian while juvenile charges are pending, the report said.
