Crime Report: Woman Arrested in Canton on Drug Charges

The following information has been provided by the Canton and Plymouth Township police departments. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

An Aug. 6 traffic stop by at Sheldon Road north of Geddes Road resulted in an arrest on charges of possession of a controlled substance, according to a police report.

According to the report, police stopped a white Cadillac Escalade for changing lanes without signaling and saw the owner had a restricted license and previous convictions for drug crimes in Ann Arbor.

The driver told police she was coming from a friend’s house where she had watched a movie and consumed two glasses of wine — outside the limitations of a restricted license, the report said.

The pill bottle indicated the woman was to dissolve half of a tablet every 8 hours, indicating she should have used 7 ½ tablets. When police opened the bottle, two different pills were inside, the report said, only 9 ½ of which were Suboxone. The woman told police she had the rest of her prescription at home.

The other pill, an orange and white capsule reading “M. Amphet Salts, 25 mg,,” was identified by police as a generic Adderall, the report said. The woman said she had disposed of her prescription bottle.

Police arrested the woman on charges of possession of a controlled substance — the generic Adderallm a schedule 2 controlled substance — and violation of a restricted license.

The woman also was cited on charges of refusing a preliminary breath test. She was given an Aug. 22 court date and was released after posting $300 bond.
