Crime Report: Woman Faces Charges She Stole Bra

Canton Township police responded to the department store at 44444 Ford Road for a report of a stolen bra, according to a police report.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the store’s loss prevention officer, who told police he saw a woman walk to the fragrance department and select three types of perfumes before selecting several bras and clothing. He told police the woman then entered the fitting room with the clothes and when she exited, she did not have a pink bra she had carried into the fitting room.

The loss prevention officer told police the fitting room was checked and the pink bra was not there. He told police he thought she might also have a fragrance bottle. He told police he then followed the woman to the store's checkout, where she was unable to pay for the items because all of her credit cards were declined, the report said, and she asked the cashier to put the items on hold.

The woman then walked past the checkout and out the doors, the report said, when she was approached by the loss prevention officer, who asked her to come to his office. According to the report, she told the employee she had only taken the bra, valued at $29.98, which she then removed and returned to the employee.

Kohl’s managers said they wish to prosecute, the report said. The woman was cited for third-degree retail fraud and was due in court April 9.

Vehicle reported missing at Holiday Market

Canton Township Police responded April 8 to , 520 S. Lilley Road, for a report of a possible vehicle theft, according to a police report.

The vehicle owner told police he left his vehicle at the store at about 7:30 a.m. when it wouldn’t start, the report said.

The man told police he returned to the store at 8:30 p.m., when he saw his vehicle was missing. The man told police his son usually drives the car and that his son had not answered his phone after a family fight that happened earlier in the day, the report said.

Store managers said they did not have any cars removed from the lot that day.

On April 9, the man reported to police that the vehicle was returned and that his son had taken it, the report said. The man told police he didn’t want to prosecute and wanted the case closed.
